The Detective Bureau is a general duty unit of the Mayfield Heights Police Department's Investigative Division that investigates all felony and serious misdemeanor crimes. After a bureau investigation, crimes are turned over to the prosecutor's office. All misdemeanor crimes are prosecuted through Lyndhurst Municipal Court by the Mayfield Heights City Prosecutor, and all felony crimes are prosecuted by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office through Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
